Household Chemical Collections

The Pulaski County Regional Solid Waste Management District now has five permanent sites to accept household chemical waste and electronics from Pulaski County residents. The sites are on a rotating schedule located in Little Rock, North Little Rock, Jacksonville and Sherwood. The hours of operation for weekday collections are from 7 to 9:30 am and reopen later that day from 3:30 to 5:30pm. Saturday collections are from 7am to noon. NOTICE

Effective June 1, 2005...
Paint will not be accepted after this date. This notice affects all household chemical collection centers.
Solidify paint using cat litter, sand, saw dust or air dry and place in trash.


 

Materials and Quantities Accepted

Household quantities of solvents; common household cleaners such as ammonia, bleach, disinfectants, strong cleansers - liquid and powder, degreasers, oven cleaners, spot removers, and drain cleaners; used oil, gasoline, and antifreeze; household, nickel-cadmium and car batteries; and pesticides, insecticides and herbicides; fluorescent and incandescentlight bulbs; and mercury containing household items will be accepted. Items should be in the original container and clearly labeled. Only household quantities of common household chemicals will be accepted. Waste from businesses, ammunition or other explosives will not be accepted. Please limit quantities to five 5-gallon containers of any material. No trailers will be accepted.

The Reuse Center offers usable products to county residents at no charge. Through the Exchange program, usable or new products are added to the Reuse Center’s shelves and are available to residents at no charge.

Collection Center Locations

Sherwood

Located at 6500 North Hills Blvd, at the Sherwood Public Works facility. This center is open every Monday (7:00 am to 9:30 am and 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm) and the 1st Saturday of the month (7:00 am to noon).

North Little Rockhc_staff

Located at 12th and Willow, just inside the gate at the NLR public works facility located off 13th and Main Street in downtown NLR.

This center is open every Tuesday (7:00 am to 9:30 am and 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm) and the 3rd Saturday of the month (7:00 am to noon).

Jacksonville

Located at 1300 Marshall Drive, of the Main Street Exit, at the Jacksonville Recycling Center. This center is open every Wednesday (7:00 am to 9:30 am and 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm) and the 4th Saturday of the month (7:00 am to noon).

Little Rock

1. Located at Pulaski County Sanitation, which is behind the county jail located off Roosevelt road to Brown Street. From Brown Street, turn right at the Pulaski County Road and Bridge Department, then follow the signs to the Sanitation department until you see our center.

This center is open every Thursday (7:00 am to 9:30 am and 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm) and the 2nd Saturday of the month (7:00 am to noon). This facility will be closed on the Thanksgiving.

2. 10001 Kanis Rd. located in the back parking lot of the Little Rock Police Substation at the corner of Jr. Deputy and Kanis.

This center is open every Thursday (7:00 am to 9:30 am and 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm) and the 1st Saturday of the month (7:00 am to noon).
